NEW FOR 2025
Adam writes… I’ve been trying to think of a way to say Thank You to all of you who support my guided tours in London. And I’ve come up with this… every month a free map! I hope you enjoy them and find them useful.
Each month, on or around the 1st, I’ll post a new map. They’ll be curated around a band/act/singer/composer, or a theme, or a neighbourhood, period or genre. Each one will have at least 10 locations for you to explore. Most of them will deal with the London area, but from time-to-time I’ll head off a little further afield as well. I’ll add playlists and links for further reading as well.
London Music Tours Map of the Month No.2: Marianne Faithfull’s London
This month we’re off in search of Marianne Faithfull’s London. This map was first compiled back in January 2025 to mark the passing of this true Bohemian soul.

Marianne’s musical journey began in 1964 with her version of the Jagger/Richards ballad As Tears Go By. Her music career suffered in the aftermath of the Redlands drug bust of 1967. Where Mick Jagger and Keith Richards came out of the case like outlaws, Marianne’s career was damaged beyond repair thanks to the lurid lies invented by the English gutter press. But it didn’t stop her going on one of the most fulfilling musical journeys of the rock ear – from folk to pop to her illuminating interpretations of the music of Kurt Weill. She was a one-off.
Her story featured in the September edition of The Monday Night Music History Club.
For just a little flavour of her musical journey, here are her Decca single from 1966 and 1967…
Marianne Faithfull appears on a number of my London Music Tours. You can check out the full schedule HERE. Private tours are available the whole year round – use the form at the bottom of this page to arrange a tour for your party or group.
