Your London Music Tour Guide – Adam Scott-Goulding
London Music Tours was founded, curated and is led by Adam Scott-Goulding.
Adam has been leading guided walking tours in London since 2005 and has specialised in music, culture, history and storytelling throughout his career.
He is a qualified City of Westminster Tour Guide with Distinction, a former national newspaper arts journalist and, since 2019, a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster.
In 2022 he became a Visit England Tourism Superstar finalist as part of The Story of London team.
Adam combines professional tour-guiding experience with a lifelong passion for music. He plays guitar and sings, collects records and has spent decades exploring London’s musical history.

Since April 2020 I have also added Virtual Tours to the repertoire.
I’m qualified as a Westminster Guide with Distinction and since 2019 I’ve been a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster.
I’m a former national newspaper arts journalist and in my spare time I play guitar and sing and buy too many records.”
London Music Tours – A Lifetime In Music
Music has been part of Adam’s life for as long as he can remember.
He acquired his first 45rpm record in 1972 – the UK No.1 Mouldy Old Dough by Lieutenant Pigeon.
In 1977 he was given his first Beatles album, Beatles for Sale. The first album he bought with his own money was Zenyatta Mondatta by The Police.
That lifelong enthusiasm for music eventually became London Music Tours.
Adam performs as a guitarist and singer with bands including The Glenbuck Cherry Pickers and the Elderly Brothers, as well as giving solo performances. Since 2023 he has also been learning piano.
For Adam, music isn’t simply a subject to research for a tour. It is something he has listened to, collected, performed and followed throughout his life.
London Music Tours Founded In 2018
Adam founded London Music Tours in 2018, combining his two great professional passions: storytelling and music.
The tours explore London through its musical history – the musicians who lived and worked here, the venues where they performed, the studios where important records were made, the streets they walked and the cultural movements that shaped the city.
Each tour is researched and curated with music fans in mind.
Depending on the tour, you might explore the London of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, rock and roll, punk, folk, pop, jazz or other musical movements and artists.

Qualified London Tour Guide
In 2019 Adam qualified as a City of Westminster Tour Guide with Distinction.
He subsequently became a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster.
This combination of professional guiding, academic teaching and journalism informs the way London Music Tours are researched and presented.
The aim is simple: to tell great stories while putting the music into its London context.
From Arts Journalism To Music Tours
Before becoming a professional tour guide, Adam worked as an arts journalist, critic and columnist.
His writing was published in The Independent, The Evening Standard and other publications.
That background continues to influence London Music Tours today.
Research, storytelling, cultural history and music journalism all come together in the tours – with the streets of London providing the setting.
More Than 20 Years Guiding London
Adam began leading guided tours in London in 2005, when he joined the renowned London Walks company.
Since then he has guided visitors across the capital, from Kensington to Mile End and Muswell Hill to Crystal Palace.
He has also led tours on wheels with companies including Evan Evans, Premium Tours and London Music Heritage.
His wider London tours include subjects such as London’s cartoon and comic-book history, Fleet Street and newspaper history, men’s fashion and the history of Crystal Palace Park.
But music remains at the heart of London Music Tours.
Virtual London Music Tours
When the pandemic transformed the tourism industry in 2020, Adam moved into virtual tour guiding, developing tours on Zoom and other streaming platforms.
His work in virtual tourism contributed to his nomination as a Visit England Tourism Superstar Finalist in 2022 with The Story of London team.
Although London Music Tours is now focused primarily on experiences in the city itself, the virtual-tour period became another chapter in Adam’s long career of finding new ways to tell London’s stories.

Adam’s hometown is the beautiful city of Edinburgh, but he has been a Londoner since 1992.
Away from tour guiding and music, he is a keen amateur photographer and regularly explores London on long-distance walks of 15–20 miles.
He lives in North London with his wife Karen, who is also a tour guide, his daughter and his record collection.
His enthusiasm for London extends far beyond the major tourist sights. Exploring the city’s neighbourhoods on foot is part of everyday life – and that curiosity feeds directly into the music tours.
