Short Biography…

“Hello! My name’s Adam and I am an award-winning, qualified tour guide. I have been leading guided walking tours in London for 17 years.

Since April 2020 I have also added Virtual Tours to the repertoire.

I’m qualified as a Westminster Guide (with distinction) and since 2019 I’ve been a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster. I’m a former national newspaper arts journalist and in my spare time I play guitar and sing and buy too many records.

I’ve been leading guided tours with the world-famous London Walks company since 2005 – you can visit the London Walks website at www.walks.com.”

Longer Biography…

London Music Tours

Adam Scott-Goulding founded London Music Tours in 2018 to combine his twin passions of storytelling and music.

Music

Music has always been a big part of Adam’s life. He acquired his first 45rpm record in 1972 (UK No.1 Mouldy Old Dough by Lieutenant Pigeon), was gifted his first Beatles album in 1977 (Beatles for Sale) and the first album he bought with his own money was Zenyatta Mondatta by The Police. He plays guitar and sings with, among others, The Glenbuck Cherry Pickers, the Elderly Brothers as well as solo one-man-and-his-guitar performances.

Qualifications & Career

Receiving his Westminster Tour Guide’s badge from the Lord Mayor of Westminster

In 2019 Adam qualified as a City Of Westminster Tour Guide (with Distinction) and soon after became a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster. In 2022 he joined the newly-founded London Heritage Training company as a tour guiding tutor.

Prior to being a professional tour guide, Adam was a journalist. His work as an arts journalist, critic and columnist was published in The Independent and The Evening Standard among many other titles.

Keeping On During The Pandemic

Any Other Business?

Adam was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and has been a Londoner since 1992. As well as playing music he is a keen amateur photographer, snapping London on his regular 15-20 mile London rambles. He lives in North London with his wife Karen (also a tour guide), his daughter and his record collection.
