Q: DO YOUR WALKING TOURS TAKE PLACE IN THE RAIN?
A: Yes. London Music Tours take place rain or shine. If you want to do the tour, then we will always do the tour regardless of the weather conditions
Q: WHERE IS MY BOOKING CONFIRMATION
A: Your London Music Tours booking confirmation will arrive via email within 48 hours of the time you made the booking. Please also check your spam folder. If, however, you have not received your confirmation after 48 hours, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Q: ARE THE WALKS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?
A: Most of our London Music Tours take place outside. If a tour visits an interior then that will be made clear in the tour description.
Q: WHAT IS A VIRTUAL TOUR AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A: Virtual London Music Tours are conducted live via Zoom via a mix of commentary, footage, original photography, maps and historic documents and pictures. If you would like a free 10 minute demo before you book, simply drop us a line or call.
Q: ARE YOUR TOURS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
A: Yes – all of our outdoor walking tours are accessible. However, if we have to take a Tube journey then matters become more complicated. Sadly there is no step-free access at St John’s Wood tube station which we use on the Beatles tours.
Q: ARE YOUR TOURS DOG FRIENDLY?
A: Yes, all London Music Tours are dog friendly. And dogs go free! If we visit an interior on a tour which is NOT dog friendly it will say so on the tour description.
Q: WHY DO I NEED AN OYSTERCARD/TRAVELPASS FOR YOUR BEATLES TOURS AND YOUR HANDEL TOURS?
A: On the Beatles tours we travel from the West End to St John’s Wood to finish at the famous Abbey Road crossing. On the Handel’s London tour we use the tube to cover as many locations as possible. Please buy/arrange your tickets before joining the tour to make the most of your time. Full info on travelling by tube can be found at the Transport For London website here: www.tfl.gov.uk
Q: WHICH IS THE CORRECT EXIT AT TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD TUBE FOR YOUR ROCK’N’ROLL LONDON WALK?
A: Exit 1 from the Northern Line and the Central Line on the corner of Oxford Circus & Tottenham Court Road. Click here for a map and some pictures if you get stuck.
Q: CAN UNDER 18’S ATTEND A PUB WALK?
A: Under 18’s may not be admitted to the pub – this is at the pub landlord’s discretion.
Q: CAN I TAKE PICTURES OF THE GUIDE LEADING THE WALK?
A: Yes, please feel free to take as many pictures as you like but NO filming or audio recording please.
Q: HOW FAR DO WE WALK ON YOUR TOURS?
A: Each tour is different but you should expect to cover at least a mile on a two-hour walking tour. No two-hour walking tour is any longer than 1.5 miles. The Rock’n’Roll Explorer Days cover greater distance because they are full-day tours but there are ample opportunities on the Rock’n’Roll Explorer Days to sit down and take a break.
Q: WHAT IS A ROCK’N’ROLL EXPORER DAY?
A: A Rock’n’Roll Explorer Day is a full-day tour. We go further afield using public transport and because we don’t have to book a coach or a bus we can keep the cost down for you. It offers all the exclusivity of a private you for the cost of a public tour. The Explorer Days are scheduled tours but can also be booked On Demand subject to availability. Get in touch if you’d like more details using the form below.
Q: ARE GIFT VOUCHERS AVAILABLE?
A: Yes. You can book private tours or individual places on scheduled walking tours. Free gift card is included. Please note that I will need at least 7 days notice to make sure the gift card arrives on time. To arrange a gift voucher drop me a line.
Q: DO ALL OF YOUR TOURS FEATURE LIVE MUSIC?
A: No. The tours that always feature live music from your guide are The Rock’n’Roll London Pub Walk and The Kinks In North London walk.
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR GUIDE’S QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEADING TOURS?
A: I am a qualified City Of Westminster Tour Guide (With Distinction), a visiting lecturer in tour guiding at the University of Westminster. In 2022 I was a finalist in the Visit England Tourism Superstar competition and for my work with London Walks I was awarded the Travellers’ Choice badge for 2021. A selection of my reviews can be found here.
Q: DO YOU LEAD NON-MUSIC TOURS IN LONDON?
A: Yes I do. For all my non-music-themed walking tours please contact London Walks. If I am not available then one of my very talented colleagues will be. The London Walks website is www.walks.com, their email is london@walks.com and you can call them on 020 7624 3978.
