Eclectic Covent Garden

I’m very excited about the second outing of my new-for-2020 walking tour tomorrow – Musical Covent Garden meets at Covent Garden Tube at 10.45a.m.
The walk first went out in January and to accompany the locations I compiled a playlist.
Back then, before the walk had taken place, my concern was that the tour was, if anything, too eclectic in its scope.
Eclecticism is one thing. But a tour that goes from Dame Nellie Melba to The Smiths via Thomas Arne and Bob Marley is maybe a step too far?
I needn’t have worried – my guests were up for anything and we had fun swooping from Gilbert & Sullivan to John Lennon and on to Pink Floyd via Rule Britannia!
In fact the tour was the inspiration for my forthcoming season of Music Neighbourhood Tours in Marylebone, Kensington, Mayfair & St James’s. More news on those tours (both walking tours AND virtual tours) soon.
Here’s the Musical Covent Garden playlist. Enjoy…
Can a tour be TOO eclectic? What areas of London would you like to see covered by a new music tour? Which composers/bands/acts would make a great tour? Get in touch!
THERE ARE STILL A FEW PLACES LEFT FOR TOMORROW’S TOUR (SUNDAY 6TH SEPT) BOOK HERE…
