Step forward Lillian Claire Laizer Getel Klot, born in London’s East End in 1933.
Under her stage name of Georgia Brown she played the role of Nancy in Lionel Bart’s Oliver! both in the West End and on Broadway.

Oliver! remains a much-loved classic of the British musical theatre and revivals are almost guaranteed success. Composer Bart, like Brown herself, started life in the East End. His most famous show cleaned up in the West End, hit Broadway and became a successful film in 1968 with Oliver Reed as Bill Sykes.
Brown was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Actress in a musical for her performance on Broadway. And here she is on the Sullivan Show that famous night 9th February 1964…
So, that makes five English entertainers named on the marquee that night in February 1964.
